Get to know me

I hope to get a chance to know you so it’s understandable that you may want to know a bit about me! I’m a White, cisgender woman in my 30’s originally from the Midwest. As a Wisconsinite at heart, you may hear my regional accent come out in sessions from time-to-time. Understanding has always held a special place in my life and I consider myself a lifelong learner in many ways. My interest in understanding why people think, feel, believe, and do the things they do led me to my undergraduate degree in psychology. After working alongside a gifted team of mental health providers, I developed a deep interest in pursuing higher education that would allow me to connect with others in this way. I packed up and moved south to Austin where I enrolled locally at St. Edward’s University to complete my graduate degree in clinical mental health counseling. Since this time, I’ve had the privilege to connect with talented professionals and motivated individuals who are seeking safe spaces to explore their own growth and understanding. I try my best to practice appreciation and acceptance for the highs and lows of life as I too have navigated my own mental health, anxiety, panic, depression, and neurodivergence. My goal has always been to create the safe spaces I would like to see more of in the world; those with non-judgment, curiosity, connection, and empathy. When I am not practicing, you might find me taking rest days, spending time with my fiancé and cat, delving into interests like needlework, listening to Spotify playlists, thrifting/antiquing, and probably thinking too much about life because I am human, too.
